We developed multiple drone lighting systems! Some of them are water-cooled and have a massive LED light output of 163.000 lumens and yet they are lightweight. The combination of techniques behind this product is unique and provides new possibilities for use underneath drones. We developed this system ourselves, based on the Stratus-led project from America. We developed different drone lighting systems so let us know what you are looking for!
To fly with our drone lighting system, a lot of technical knowledge is needed. In contrast to what lots of people think, LED lights can become really hot. Cooling them is essential but hard to realize at this level of light output. We are proud that we managed to do this with a source of 163.000 lumen and a total weight of a little less than 2KG. We made it work by adding a water-cooled system which is truly exceptional. The Drone LED light we build can be compared with an 8-10KW ARRI in terms of light output and pulls 70 Ampere at 25 Volt.
Next to our BIG 1000W Gimbal controlled setup, we also have a setup for our smallest drone, a unique FPV LED drone setup. The LED lights on this FPV drone are directly mounted on the body, shining in two directions giving the effect of a small Disney-like lighting ball flying through the sky. We fly this setup with our FPV drone pilot Thomas de Koster. Let us know if you have any questions regarding which setup will work best for your video production.
As a film production company, we know that the quality of light is essential. That’s why our drone lighting system is made with professional LED’s and lenses (97 CRI*). In contrast to other related LED lights, we don’t have yellow edges. Besides that, we work with diffuse lenses to make it look like the light is coming from one source. Our LED light can be deployed for various productions as it can give a beautiful refined cinematic effect or highlight a specific subject, for example for a commercial or product launch.
*CRI stands for “Color Rendering Index” and is a method to measure color information.
Our unique LED system creates shadows and movements of lights that have never been possible can now be produced with our drone lighting system. Next to the option to put our LED light underneath a drone you can also mount it on any vehicle or use a handheld version. Either way, you have the possibility of truly mobile light on locations it was never possible before.
We offer different LED lighting systems with different weight and beam angle. We can mount it on a car, a motorcycle or have a hand-held version, it’s up to you. At Kiwi Aerial Shots we build custom products because they are always needed for productions that push the boundaries. We always try to help and work with you to make the production truly unique and customize this LED lamp in any way.
